Thank you very much for your positive feedback on my photo of "Mean Green", Judy Davisson did a great job introducing it, this plant has very good branching, firm scapes and the flowers stand out nicely above the leaves.
Believe me or not, in the spring of 2021 I planted Mean Green as a single fan, the first two months it was basically normal, the fan got bigger and looked healthy.
By the fall, however, around the original fan, 7 new fans appeared at a distance of about 6 to 7 inches, I've never seen a daylily multiply so quickly.
It's not surprising that Judy chose the name "Mean Green" for it
This is the story behind this photo, going from a single fan to quite a clump in one year.
Actually, I should inform Davy about whether this is normal with this plant....
I love the pictures you post , I believe you have a great daylily collection in your garden !
