Hi Everyone, I started getting into this back in May when I made some fairy gardens. And was hooked. Eventually on my sleepless nights I found this forum, and have read so much useful information. I used to have free range chickens and no plants, the chickens are gone and I can have plants again. I built a new garden just for succulents when I ordered more than my fairy gardens could hold. And well, I went a little crazy.
I'm in southwest Ohio, near Dayton.
I have a million questions I think of when I'm not in the garden.
But anyway, some pictures and it's nice to meet you all!

I did my PhD at Miami of Ohio in plant genetics so I know the area well. August was the worst month there, the "dog days". Luckily I was in air conditioned labs but the greenhouses were killers in August.

Thanks! They are planted in old wheelbarrows and water troughs that were leaking.
I have a horse farm and we are constantly having to replace things. It's nice to find a second use for them.
This one is my favorite.
It's also nice to be able to use some of my compost up. They have a layer of pumice at the bottom. Then sand, then the compost mixed with sand. I think I'm going to need more drain holes come fall/ winter in the troughs but the rest should be good.

Now that is a fun and whimsical garden.

Hey there, Sempinvasion! I apologize for being late to welcome you. On mobile, I can't 'watch' forums, so I don't get notified when a new thread is made. Your gardens are absolutely beautiful! I like semps myself, but I currently don't have any. We just moved from CA to SD, so I'm in a very different growing climate now, as you can imagine. Pretty soon, hopefully, I'll be ready to grow sempervivums again.
