In this episode, Dave and Trish talk about their favorite wild edible plants, the kinds of plants you might come across as you walk through the woods. Many of the plants on this list are sure to surprise you!
While hiking here in New Hampshire, I'm always on the lookout for Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens). Love chewing on the leaves while taking in the sights. The needles of White Pine are edible too, high in vitamin-C, but they are also high on terrible flavor.
As always, however, if you are going to consume something you find growing in the 'wild' make damn sure you know what it is or you could be in for a nasty surprise.
