A friend left me several Adeniums when he passed away. I repotted them in a well-draining mix of potting soil and perlite. They are outside in full sun in the summer months and in my garage during the winter (in Alabama). I fertilized them with Miracle grow in spring. They look healthy and the trunks have grown thicker, but they have not flowered in over 4 years. What am I doing wrong?

they look very dry ....saturate the plants - especially when hot

- Watering -

keep track of local temperatures ~

70°'s water once every 10 days - or so
80°'s water once every 7 days - or so
90°'s water once every 5 days - or so
100°'s water once every 3 days - or so

count any rainfall as a watering day

Do not water - if night lows are predicted to dip into 50's / 40's

while saturating ...check to see if the water is quickly draining away

when was the last time they were fertilized ?

To me it looks too dry...if it is positioned daily in full sun in summer, you have to treat it like a regular tropical plant...water it very well..spray water entire plant, drench it well till you see excess water flows out.

Your area may have higher humidity than my area, so try to do watering intervals...but keep watering..it loves water, high heat and direct sun during summer. Got to encourage those leaves to grow actively and along with the new leaves the cluster of new buds should form.

It is only towards late fall where I gradually decrease watering frequency once overnight temps starts going in the 50F range..and once it goes below 50F overnight, time to move it indoors.
When winter comes, then I stop watering and allow it to go winter dormant.

Here are two of them. I have them in full sun and watered occasionally.
Thanks,

cut back to about 6-8 hours full sun ..saturate with miracle grow all purpose fertilizer once every 2 weeks
