What can I say? I just moved into a new place and one of the smelly little cuties has decided that the planters around the back fence have the most delicious grubs (or something) and is plowing on a nightly basis. It's also chowing down on the birdseed SWMBO sprinkles for the doves. We have fences and walls on all sides, I've plugged the holes under them and stopped spreading the seed (SWMBO is not happy about that). Any other suggestions to repel them? Hit me with your best shots. And thank you in advance.

Check under the house, porch, deck, shed, garage, outbuildings. They may just be living right in your yard, no need to get through the fence.
Remove any food/water/habitat as much as possible.
They look big, but a lot of that is fluff and fur. I saw one go through my chain link fence. They actually don't weigh much.
They're family oriented--if there's only one or two now, you'll soon have more.
Here's some advice from UCD-IPM:

Do you have dogs in the yard? Stock up on this, it works way better than homebrew concoctions:

a big dog ...the deterrent of choice for any other creature .... but even a big dog might get sprayed ....

could try cougar, fox or wolf urine scattered *sparingly* around your property ... look for it online or a well stocked sporting goods store
