Murky, almost all upfacing lilies are bred by the Dutch for the cut flower trade where "upfacing" works best. Most of the outfacing to downfacing ones are bred by small breeders.
Love this banner, and I'm enjoying the discussion it provoked. It does make me wonder whether bees and other members of the pollination nation prefer one type over the other.
You captured alot of blooms in the banner. Nice job! When I grew white upward facing lilies, the pollen seemed to mess up the blooms. I don't notice it so much with my orange lilies--less contrast in color I guess.
