Probably 6 years old or so.

Rescue from a neighboring business that kept it under next-to-dark-conditions in 8" of water a couple years ago (my guess at least, it was in an un-drained planter and the mineral stains go that far up the exterior of the plastic pot).

I got about 6 happy new plants after I adopted it.
It's still in the original soil with top dressings over the years.

Trying to decide whether to keep it as is, re-pot, up-pot, or just dump it out and break it up and take cuttings from what I can't divide. Just getting it out will be a chore so I have no clue what the roots looks like, but regardless of what I do I think it wants new soil.

A friend just gave me a dozen 2 gallon pots, so I'm leaning towards breaking it up and seeing what there is to work with.

As of now it's not supported, on a porch under a carport with strong-medium indirect western light for hours.

Wow it's beautiful and looks fairly happy considering! I would repot, new soil, and gradually give it more light.

Thanks!
Not too shabby given the damn snails.

Not worried about light, but I agree new soil will help regardless of what happens.

I'm newish to Monstera, but this is what I'd do:
First, repot. I would probably not divide it, I like the fuller look of having several in a pot. Use a good quality, fast draining soil and a pot with lots of drainage holes.
Monstera are giant vines. If they don't have a tropical tree to go up, they tend to start going sideways pretty quickly. If you want a more upright look, I'd add a very sturdy support post and start training them to a more upward growth habit.
The damage to old leaves is cosmetic, I'd just leave them alone. Eventually they'll drop off. The new growth looks healthy. I think it looks very good considering the conditions you found it in!

Appreciate the comments and advice, thanks!

They grow fine for me, more looking for opinions about what to do with that pot's worth of plant(s).

Good chance if I do split them they'll be going as retail plants in my store, either single cutting or doubled, I agree with MsDoe fuller looks much better.

Or just re-pot and eyeball it again in another year...

Any more opinions, please?

Intact root re-pot with new soil or divide into twos and threes?

I have nothing to offer.
Bot I imagine you are itching to see how the roots look, so.. when you tip it out, some small part may just fall off* the main thing and have to be potted up itself. I guess my vote is keep a large part together but maybe a small extra one will become available.

*Even if it needs a little nudge nodding
Plant it and they will come.

Right there, that was an offer.

That's where I'm heading anyways.

@Gina1960 is familiar with lots of Aroids, perhaps she could help with an ID.

If it were my plant and crowded in that ceramic pot to the point that it couldn't easily be removed, I'd just bust that ceramic pot and repot using a plastic pot with lots of drainage holes and an airy potting media ... or mount it and allow it to grow epiphytically.

Gina may not be online right now, depending on how much (if any) damage they may be dealing with from Hurricane Ivan.
