I almost did the first photo a couple of years ago..

As for the spiral one, when your adenium grow big, it will create scars on the adenium skin, I had that once when I used bonsai wire to wire and bend the stem

This is so interesting! I think more people would do stuff like this if they saw it. Has anyone "engraved" an Adenium caudex?

Used to be a lot in Indonesia, a few years back, the engraved adenium is one of the classification in Adenium contest..
Personally I didn't do it..

chhari. You have way to much fun with your desert roses. Very creative a few 🤭 chuckles and they is way worth it …I would have never thought about doing what you have done each character something out of a cartoon..
