Has anyone ever grown a carnivorous Bromeliad? I just ordered one and was hoping for some tips.

If you are growing Brocchinia, I found this

Brocchinia reducta.

Thank you! That's a very helpful article. I plan to put it with my full sun orchids in my greenhouse. One of my big questions is water. The seller said low minerals but nothing about pH. My water is low in minerals but also slightly alkaline. That doesn't bother the Nepenthes so hopefully this new plant will be fine too.

I have been growing Brocchinia reducta since 2010.
I grew this plant in a 50 / 50 mix of turface and peat moss.
For me it seems to take the mother plant 5+ years to produce pups.
When my original plant pupped, I kept 2 of the pups and re-potted them into a 50 / 50 mix of perlite and peat moss.
These are these 2 pups today.

I grow these in a south facing sliding glass door receiving as much sunlight as they can get.
Grown in insufficient light the plants will not form a tight cylinder and not be erect.
My plants could use more light. They could be a little tighter and would turn a golden yellow color.
I water weekly with rainwater. If I run out of rain water I would use reverse osmosis or distilled water. Typically by the time I water again the soil is very dry.
Every other month or two, I will dump water into the tanks of the plant.
Also at the time of refreshing the tank water, I will mist the plant with air plant fertilizer.
Anytime I catch any flies or other bugs that have sneaked into the house, they usually get placed into the tank of this plant.

Got it! Adorable!

Is there a way to get rid of Zeta's comment? Not funny or appropriate.
