Hi, I am not sure if you guys cover lemon trees but I will ask in case you do. My lemon tree got sideswiped by a falling palm during Hurricane Ian. The tree was knocked to the ground and one of the main branches broke off. I was able to uprite the tree but now it is very heavy with branches on one side. I guess the best thing to do would be to prune the other branches to match the broken side, but I just want to get some other opinions. And should I trim before a Y or after one? Here are a few pics of the before and after.

I gather you would rather have symmetry than lemons so I would be inclined to cut the left side above the Y to match the right.

I think you can trim it in a year or so. It is super stressed right now. You have almost a continuous growing season where you are so see how the tree responds. You can always prune it later.

I would set it upright and give it a year or two to see how it goes, first. Just be patient!

Thanks I just saw the last three messages.
Pork Pal, I like the lemons, and it is in a spot that when I look at if from my lanai, I can't see that it is lopsided.
Big Bill Yes, you're right about the continuous growing season. when I picked the last few lemons about 3 weeks ago, there were buds already starting. It is fully budded now and starting to flower. It has the most buds that I have had so far. I got the tree is about 3 or 7 years ago when it was about 6 or 4 feet tall.
Karma happy toes, That is what i have decided to do, There is just one area I would like to trim and if it is not too loaded with lemons, I might just do that. I guess it would be ok to cut off one upper branch when it has fruit... Or not?
