While moving my plants into the greenhouse this past weekend, I noticed some of the leaves on this plant looked bad. They had dark, soft spots with a hole in the leaf.

On closer inspection I noticed a single small bulb forming on each leaf. Where those had formed and dropped off onto the soil was where the hole was left in the leaf.

I think this plant label was generic.
Drimiopsis kirkii, D. Botryoides, Ledebouria kirkii Dwarf Ledebouria, Scilla, Squill

I have a variety of these types of bulb but had never seen this type of bulb formation before. Any thoughts?

You can grow Drimiopsis/Ledebouria (I think all the same plant) from leaf cuttings. The new plantlets grow on the cut edge of the leaf. Usually, one cut edge in soil and plantlets on the other cut edge. Your happy plants took a short cut.

Interesting. I did not know that. I will have to give that a try. Thank you.

The different types I have form bulbils on the bulbs.

I had a hectic summer so don't recall this plant blooming but it may have done so.

You can also chop the bulbs in pieces and many times they will make a new plant
