Hello, I need help with my cyclamen. I bought a new cyclamen because I am taking care of another one. At the store it already had dead flowers and yellowing leaves. How do I fix this? It's in a pretty bad state right now (I haven't waterd it)

Hi & welcome! It looks decent. Removing the damaged leaves would help, so it looks better and so they aren't blocking light for the still healthy leaves. There are some buds so there will be new flowers soon. Is the pot wrapped in plastic?

The pot is not wrapped in plastic and most of the bad leaves have been removed. I have also removed some of the dead flowers. Thank you for the help!

Happy to reply. Cyclamen doesn't get much discussion as a houseplant. I hope we will hear more from others who have had one (or more) around for longer than I have.

I removed all of the dead flowers. Some came straight off and the others had a bit of damage (some parts of the stem looked like it had been scraped off with a fingernail). All around the stems were wet. Is this normal or an issue? Apologies for the lack of photos!

Well since you're new, we won't take off any points for lack of pic. ; ) Are you having trouble with the site?

The scraping makes me wonder if there's a slug or snail in the pot.

Haha, for now, I'm not! :D
All the stems are visible, the pot is probably too small for a snail/slug to be able to live in, and I've never taken the plant outside. Might be something from my cat, even tho she's stayed away and has never digested the stems, she also hasn't experienced the symptoms yet. Ill switch the spot to see if anything gets better. Thank you for all the help

Yep, there is. Here also a few photos of the cyclamen now that's it's fully cleaned up. :)

It looks pretty good!
