Hello! A friend recently dropped off a spider plant at my house looking for help. They've had it for 2-3 years but have never repotted it. I'm wondering, should I repot it? Or wait for the spring? I think it looks pretty good, it's just a little lighter in colour compared to other spider plants I've seen online (the picture isn't quite capturing the colour right. It's a lighter green in real life). Any and all advice is welcome! :)

Personally I would leave well alone for now. Repotting a stressed plant is never a good idea.
It may have used up all available nutrition, but I would wait until Spring to attempt a repot when it will be in more active growth.

Thank you very much Sue! Do you think it would benefit from being given some plant food? Or should I hold off until spring on that as well?

The plant looks pretty normal to me, think I would just leave it alone.

Looks good, just delay to mid Spring to repot.
No fertilizers either at this time. Just let it acclimate nicely to your indoor growing area for now.

I agree with the rest of the posts. Do nothing until spring. I'll tell you when I have SP and they have been outside I cut the leaves off and let them regrow in the greenhouse.

The roots tend to fill in the pot and use all the soil. If you do anything at all, transfer to a wider/deeper pot with soil around the sides and bottom of the plant til Spring.
So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share!

Thank you everyone for all the great advice! I think I'll leave it as-is for now, and repot it in the springtime.
