Hairy Alum Root is a good looking plant and almost every part of it is designed to contrast with other perennials. The foliage has a velvety texture and the foliage color is a very soft green. The foliage generally makes a mound that is roughly 24 inches wide and tall. The panicles and flowers appear in late summer, making it one of the latest Heuchera to bloom. This plant seems to be more drought tolerant and more tolerant of hot and humid summers than other Heuchera.
