The tree service has free Mulch that they have grind from trees they just cut---Now its like 1in size , if I grind that up into 1/4 size , will that be ok to propagating angel trumpet plants roots ???? or will that be to much acid in that new mulch ???

I've had stem cuttings from mine root all by themselves just lying on top of the mulch, as long as they get watered regularly. They're really very forgiving plants. Yes, I dropped a few pieces in purpose, when I pruned one of mine . . . I do love an experiment.

ReconJack; Do you know what kind of trees they chipped up? If fir or evergreen, yes to the acid soil. It there are other types of trees then I need to ask do you have sugar ants in your area? Chipped up wood draws in the sugar ants and if they are there I would be concerned about them taking out an electrical box. As they search for warmth during the colder seasons. Acidy soil can be a concern due to the acid in the soil can cause them to appear to look like they are diseased. That is when one can try Borax water to pull them out of that sic look. You don't want them in acidy soil as they want a sweeter rich soil. Our here I try to vac up all the pine or fir needles as I have seen what they do to the soil. Thank Rj for the heads up. Been really busy here and have a few days to get the yard cut back before snow hits on the valley floor.
