Silly question, I know, but is there a "front" side and a "back" side to a daffodil bulb? I obviously don't have enough bulbs planted (no large swaths with heads nodding in every direction), so I was disconcerted when so many of the ones I had were looking away from me! I at first thought they were oriented towards the sun, but one small group is just gazing intently back at the massive lilac they sit in front of!

LOVE my daffies and iris. Every year I enjoy them SO much, and when they are done, I think "well, that's it. I have to live another year so I can see my springlettes again!

Daffodils do tend to turn to the sun.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

Hi daffodil experts!
Can you tell me, if a daffodil just springs up in the woods, did it grow from seed or what? I have seen them do it in very different settings, but every time very unlikely to have propagated the normal daffodil way from bulbs. Is it possible for daffodils to self-seed?? I am pretty much back in the woods now, and I have some daffodils where nobody ever planted anything, and a couple have interesting flowers. If they self-seeded, it would make them a new variety, such as it is, or am I mistaken? Thank you!

Long, long, long ago, there may have been some kind of residence there, one that is not apparent today. They could have been planted by said resident. Yes, they can also spread by seed. There are so many ways they could have gotten there.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
