After the mildest New York winter I can remember, we have at least 100 bulb flower stalks popping far out of the ground - by Feb. 1! Some as high as 8-10 in. tall. This is way way early. With 7F expected by Friday, do we need to protect them by covering them with some material, like old bedsheets or plastic tarp?

The bulbs may be ok, but the buds and leaves will not survive uncovered.
