Lynn - I am so jealous!! Mine are all in the storage room with other tropicals under grow lights that are set to turn on and off with the sunrise and sunset so almost all are starting to leaf back out now. Hurray! Temps down there stay at about 65. I had to laugh because I put the reflective cheap survival blankets up around to aid in the light, my nephews, when they came by at Christmas were very quick to ask me what I was growing. I told them both not to get too excited that they were literally tropical plants.

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

Fantastic, Chantell! I am doing a similar thing with foil. It has made a huge difference for my plants this winter. I'm so glad too because they had to come inside about 6-8 weeks earlier than most years.

It's March 1, spring is around the corner, I hope. I've kept my Brugs stripped this winter. It's been hard on me, but way less messy. Should I start waking them up now? One is wanting to put out leaves. Also, a friend just asked if I would have a starter. Can I take a cutting now?

Sorry gang, I have been under the weather here and not stopping in only to read a little.

Chantell, that is a great set up but if you want your Brugs to rest during the winter months the extra light isn't needed I have a 4-foot light in the tropical greenhouse
and they still bloom. I finally got in to water today and the last bloom had dropped. I was in a hurry so I didn't check for buds. In Jan we had a 6 hour power outage and it's not a pretty sight out there. I need to strip them but I'm limited in what
I can do in there for a while.

GlennR, what is the last date of frost for your area in KS? I won't be in a hurry as I'm sending the last snow storm your way. Best take cutting when they are actively growing if you want a good plant. Our last date of frost is April 15 and last year we had ice and snow the end of April!

Well, our last frost date is from the middle to the end of April. I don't usually think of doing anything in the vegetable garden until after the first week of May.
Please do send the snow! We have had a very dry winter after a very dry 2022. Then last Sunday we had this in the area, if I can get it downloaded.

Got it done.
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.

@purpleinopp, thank you! I've been dealing with bad reactions to the venon therapy to the point I'm back to weekly shots. Then I had an asthma attack so after the weekly shots are done it's time to do the series of allergy sticks so they have a better idea of what I'm dealing with. Between the shot and sticks I have to be off all my meds for 5 days so I'm sure I'll disappear for a while later this month. Sorry

@purpleinopp, Bless you! All of my doctors have advised me to stop gardening! I don't listen and just ask that they keep me on my feet.
Since I have limit my time here due to health issues please either tree mail, email me direct which is the best as I get it on my phone or do the @ before my name according to the staff here is a great way to get someone attention. Still learning here too!
