Hello fellow dahlia enthusiasts! If you've ever looked for heat tolerant dahlias, you probably know that the Dahlia Society of Georgia assembled a list some years ago that you can find on their website. You may also know that the list is not in a very user-friendly format.

Last year, I took the list and converted to a spreadsheet so it can be sorted, filtered and searched. I wanted to share it with others who might find it useful, so I put a version on Google sheets here: https://docs.google.com/spread...

BTW, I'm not trying to steal the DSG's thunder or anything--I actually sent the spreadsheet to the society last year, but they never responded to my email. I just realized while reading the garden.org newsletter today that there is a Dahlia forum here that might be a good place to offer this resource.

PS--You can leave a comment on the sheet if you can provide a correction or update, and I'll make the changes. However, if anyone wants to make substantial edits (like filling in missing size information) or additions, please message me. I can send you an excel version of the sheet to work with (or you could just copy the google sheet I suppose), and I'll post I can repost your edited version.

I know a few other dahlia growers have put together ones that grow better heat. Should be able to google and find them. There are more dahlias than the Georgia list. Using shade cloth is essential in warmer climates like mine Dallas 8A.

When we say heat, how hot are we talking? It will approaching 90f here next week. Is that too hot? Our summers are mostly 90's
