Does anyone grow plumeria from seed? I know they are easy from cuttings but I have one (of three) with seed pods ,and wonder if it would be worth trying.

It is worth it. 85% of my plumerias were grown from seeds. They take a few years to bloom. @teamcll was able to make them bloom in less than 2 years.

You are Welcome! ! You can probably grow the seeds all year round in your area.

Growing from seed is definitely worth it. It is the only way we get new varieties introduced. Seeds do not grow true to parents. They can be any color. I did have 3 that bloomed last year at 15, 16, and 18 months. I know this is not characteristic of what is normal, but I am am very vigilant about up potting constantly and trying to give ideal growing conditions. I'm sure I will not always be that successful. All 3 of those seeds were from the same parent Sorrento Stripe. I do have a seed pod on the one that bloomed at 16 months. They are right around 2 years old now. They were planted March 2021.

I've had this pink (noID) for at least 10 years and this is the first time it has set seed. No sign if pods on the other two.

Some varieties are just very stingy with seeds. Last year was very productive for a lot of people as far as pods go. I have around 15-20 myself. Must be something in the water. 😁
