Thread OP
Orlando FL.
I live in Orland Fl. and I currently use containers for my plants.
I want to build a 2'x8'x1' raised planter in my backyard.
I will be using the notched blocks for the corners and middle making it 2 4' sections and then use 2x6s for the walls stacked 2 high. Using this method, I can extend the bed at a later date if needed.
I have a privacy fence on one side of the yard that gets light all day, but no direct sunlight.
I use that spot now for most of my container plants.
I have a privacy fence on the back of the yard that gets direct sunlight in the morning and has trees that give it shade during the heat of the day in the afternoon.
Right now I am using that for some of my Tomato, Cucumber, Zucchini, and pepper plants.
I also have a spot at the side of the house that gets sunlight all day.
I tried using that for the plants, but it seemed to be too much because the leaves started wilting and getting burned.
Where is the best place for the raised planter?
On the side with no direct sun,
At the back with direct sun in the morning,
or sun all day?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance

My choice would be morning sun and afternoon shade. If the shade is really heavy you might try and trim some openings to let more sun in. Good Luck!
