Hot Lips Salvia (Salvia Microphylla) is a unique, low maintenance, evergreen bushy sage with bright red and white flowers. These one of a kind, two toned flowers adorn thin stalks with diamond shaped green leaves. Tubular in shape, the hot lips flower is a frequent destination for hummingbirds and pollinators.

Salvia microphylla is a perennial plant, which means it will last for many years in the garden. In fact, it has been known to survive for up to 20 years in some cases!

Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticulture Society.

Grows vigorously up to 4ft tall. Thrives in full sun, well-drained soils and is drought tolerant once established. Deer and rabbit resistant.

Hummingbirds love this plant. I have two hummingbird feeders' next to my salvia 'Hot Lips' and they flit and fly around all day long. Also attracts scores of butterflies and beneficial insects.

I will ship you a freshly dug clump about the size of a quart pot, with no pot, ready to be planted when delivered to you. I have 8 available, $ 8 each. I accept check, money order and Paypal( if sending money through Paypal, please send as a gift to a friend so I can avoid the fees.) If interested send me a tree mail. Shipping costs $12, $2 for an additional clump.

Blackcurrant Sage (Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips') is a beautiful plant but it's only listed as hardy for zones 7a-9b; you'd likely have to grow it as an annual, or overwinter it indoors.

Christine it is a beauty. It's a pity it is not hardy in Z:5. What else do you have? Have a list?

I have quite few plants that I will be listing. As I clean up my beds and divide them and see what extras I have, I will list them. I am sympathetic to my fellow colder climate gardening friends, I used to live in Taneytown, MD. I was told it was 6b but living below the Appalachian mountains, I could swear my gardening zone was colder. Now that I have moved to South Carolina, 8a, I have to hold myself back when the plant catalogues' come in the mail, LOL.
I will be listing some perennials that you can grow in your zone 5 garden. The one that comes to mind right now is Rudbeckia 'Maxima'. It grows 5-7′ tall and 3-4′ wide. I have attached a picture
