I have some hostas planted near to my AC and I'd like to know if the coil cleaner will harm them as it runs off/ of course it is diluted/rinsed out well with water. Does anyone know?

I've read that most coil cleaners are either highly acidine or alkaline and they're not safe for plants. I've found Cal-Green, which is supposed to be non-toxic, but I haven't read anywhere that it says safe for plants, etc. I didn't look through all the pages though about it.

I think it depends on the brand you're using.

Ours runs into the grass (not sure what the HVAC company uses though) and we've never had an issue. They do hose the coils down pretty well though so maybe it really dilutes it.
