Clematis

It would seem that clems would not fit into my gardening style of naturalized settings with easy-care adapted and native plants. The fact that I can grow them should encourage you if you want to try them. My experience is in a warm southern climate, so the bloom times are generally better in the spring and fall.

Thanks, Anna, for writing this article on one of my favorite vines. It's great to have so many clematis lovers sharing their experience growing these lovely plants. I started with Jackmanii, Ville d'Lyon, and sweet autumn. I am founding out that there are so many clems just waiting for me to add to my collection.

Anna, I can relate to the sentimental part of growing Clematis jackmanii. Every time I see one it reminds me of my Grandma. Lovey dubby Nice article, and you have a beautiful collection of clematis too.

It is a learning curve. These vines don't follow all the rules!
