Thanks, Phil. The bluebonnets have finished blooming and are now setting seeds. The prairie verbena has put on quite a show this year, but it will decline when the real heat sets in.
Luckily the cowpen daisies will stick around all summer, providing nectar for bees and butterflies.
The cloudy days and cooler temperatures have delayed some of the perennials - but I am NOT complaining about the rain. We needed it! More is in the forecast for this weekend, so even more wildflowers will bloom.
I want the front pasture to look like this again....and it's beginning to happen.
The wildflowers have been my labor of love for 23 years. So nice to see the hard work pay off!
