I thought I'd share my butterfly decoration I made for my grandmother. Similar to the dragonfly I made last year, this uses a wooden dowel and a wooden sphere. This time I used plastic plates for the wings and created beaded antennae using galvanized wire. It's hung with a rubber coated ceiling hook drilled into the body on an angle. Hopefully this weathers alright. I painted it using exterior grade spray paint. Most of my Dragonfly had been painted in craft acrylics and sadly the head didn't survive and had to be replaced, I learned my lesson. I think spray paint will perform better. Hopefully she likes it, she's in the hospital right now with a fractured hip and we would like for her to be back home in a few weeks. Fingers crossed! :)
