Neal,I just hate it when that happens. I also got burned(my own fault for not checking PF on the other website)
I have Bandana Cherry lantanas planted with Coleus RedCoat. Rosy Dawn's photo looked mor wine colored and Romence Gardens lantana looked like a pleasnt match.
NOT Red Coat is really red and Lantana is pink. Ghaaaak

Smaller DL 'Pardon Me' is a nice red. Real oldies: 'Regal Air' dark red, 'Red Mittens' brighter & smaller flowers & 'Chipper Cherry' is quite bright.

I think you should let Cherry Brandy grow for a second year, I had Rustick Colors rudbeckias and really hated them the first year but the second yr. they were beautiful and get more beautiful each year and I get some that are like the Double Gold ruds so full of petals but looking like RC.

Don't you hate that Jo Ann you just can't trust colors on the net or catalogs Confused

These Cherry Brandy Ruds were planted last year. I saw a few blooms last year, and come to think of it, they were plain yellow! They typically just last a couple of years here.

That's a shame about the Cherry Brandies I'm glad I didn't grow them then I just dug some seedlings of the Rustic Colors up to plant in my side yard hope I got some of the double ones.

Pretty flowers Jo Ann!

I had a Cherry Brandy last year... was not impressed. and it did not come back -- but i'm in zone4, must not be hardy up here.

I did grow some Purple Poppies [i'll have to look up the name] believe they are annuals... were they pretty!! not a deep purple, but a nice soft shade.
I'm sure i did not photograph them either. I've been really bad at that lately.

I love the sedum idea. The dark ones are neat in the summer garden and late summer blooms bring bees.I have Metronas,Postman Joiner,Royal Purple,Picolette,

I have every few purple poppies.Almost all my poppies are salmon or red and 99% are small.I probably will yank them. We are spreading compost on the gardens this fall.I doubt there will be any self sowe's thet make it under that.

Cinda --- yes they were about that color.

I checked my records, they were just labeled "purple poppies" I've had them for yrs, and this was the first time i saw them bloom.

I just cannot get excited over daylilies. I wish I could, but I can't. A lovely person selling daylilies on here sent me Bodacious Bite as a bonus, and it has teeth, and they're called gold. They actually glitter. I've never seen such a thing.

Ooooh, Bodacious Bite is lovely and unusual! It's funny that after all these years, I'm changing my tune with Daylilies. Well, it's probably just a growing appreciation for those plants that don't mind if I'm being really lazy about the garden, LOL. Those heirloom daylilies you sent me a couple of years ago have clumped up really nicely this year. One is the tallest I've seen, Autumn Daffodil I think is the name.

Our red & yellow daylilies in bloom at the moment. Thre are oldies except for 'Pardon Me' which is still in bud. Otherwise have reds :Regal Aire Chipper Cherry (which was hybridized by Orvil Fay of iris fame) the the smaller flowered Red Mitens. Yellow: Carl Miliken. They are along the drivway & while there are weeds & columbine, leaves sort of cover up the weeds.
