Has any body tried drying a root rot saved plant with a hair dryer. Gigi mentioned drying stems that way. I saw one picture on YouTube about using a hair dryer but that's all. Sounds feasible any thoughts.

I did! It helped dry up the end cut of the roots faster, especially when it is damp and rainy outside. But I still like to leave it out for a few days to dry the regular way.

The benefit of the hair drying for me is to dry the end cut so as not leave a wet open wound that pathogens can easily adhere to that can cause rot. But afterwards I still make sure that morning sun can heal / callous the wound for a few days.

Thank you Gigi, it appears not many people do this. By the way how soon after potting do you water?

If I am treating the plant for root rot and the cut has calloused well healed I water them right away but I won't water again until it starting to show new leaves. I also learned to keep my "in rehab" desert roses in small terracotta pots until it is healthy and active. This one has been in this small pot since March 2023. It attempted to bloomdropped all leaves and buds.

When the cut ends calloused, I water rooted this for a couple weeks.

I will wait until roots start escaping at the bottom of the pot before repotting.
