Wow Rita! Loving those Azaleas! I didn't know they came in that blueish purple at the top, and love it with the other bright colors!

I have a fondness for camellias and gardenias, as well as the hydrangeas and azaleas. Haven't tried a forsythia yet, but if they have dwarf versions I might have to! (have a suburban lot with not enough space myself) Too bad I don't have more space. Great memories of playing in the tunnel created by the drooping branches at my parent's house!

I don't remember what the light purple were called. They were $5.00 each at Home Depot quite afew years ago. The pinkish ones were also from Home Depot, two years later. Those went up in price. I think they were $8.00. The flowers on the pinkish ones are quite large. As soon as I saw them at HD I grabed them as I knew they would be fabulous in from of the purple.

They are all just about ready to burst in bloom again. Early this year. You bet I will be taking pictures again when they do.

We have serviceberry (shadbush), viburnum, blueberries & bayberry on our property, none of it planted by us. virburnums are the arrowood type with white flowers. When service berry blooms, it's time to take the cow to see the bull. None of that artificial stuff. We have a small pink flowering almond in bloom. It was given to us by a friend as his mother in law as tons. Very small but it's a start. We had a big bush when we lived in CT almost 40 yrs ago & I missed it.

Ooooh, I'm unfamiliar with 'Arnold's Red'- that is really lovely!

I picked up small a leatherleaf Viburnum a few years ago for the shrub border and it's blooming now. Eewwww, does it ever stink! I'm really glad its planted far from the house, LOL.

I think that there should be a list of 'stinky' shrubs and/or plants somewhere.
