What could you compare to a ripe tomato, fresh from the garden? i planted tomatoes and nearby basil and cucumbers with some marigolds. i just stuck a small pea plant nearby. i looked up that they do not work together, peas are fall harvest and tomatoes are summer. will they still produce peas and tomatoes or should i move the peas elsewhere?

The main problem with their seasonality is that peas are cool weather crops, while tomatoes want a bit of warmth. In much of the country peas will struggle to survive the weather during peak tomato-producing season, so they are normally planted in early spring and late summer for harvesting while it's cooler.

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.
