Thread OP

Hi all, new member! I adopted this large desert rose yesterday. It has a rust colored coating on the caudex and stems. It's hard to rub off, but it does, showing green underneath rather than the normal grey color.

I can't find anything like it online. It's not cinnamon, it's been left on it's own for years. There was another large desert rose about a foot away from where it lived that did not have this color.

Leaves look good except for it had catepillars, which I've removed and sprayed for. No soft spots. Any idea of what the rust color is from and how to treat it?

Thanks!:smily:

@dizzywizzy Welcome! to the Adenium forum! That is so strange, I have not seen anything with this type of discoloration. I am hoping that others will chime in.

The good thing is, it seems healthy looking.
