I've seen this debate recently on Facebook. I know there is a Russian hybridizer. I feel like this is similar to trying to name a noid based on appearance. There have been thousands of these plants sold, and I'm not sure we will ever be able to 100% for sure. Does anyone have both of them? I would think that would be best for comparison. I would say the best option is to maintain them separately especially since that's how Chris originally received the plant. If other want to assume they are the same, I would think that would fall to them.

I was thinking if we got photos from those with 'Dakota' taken this week and 'Dakona' it would be an easier thing to see if there is a difference in them at this time of the year.

That makes sense. I'll grab a picture of my Dakona (Autumn Apple) this evening. I lost my Dakota over the winter to rabbits.

I have both.
Both are in about the same soil mix and sunlight level.
