Many botanical gardens across the country collaborate with the glass artist Dale Chihuly to install glass sculptures outdoors in their gardens. Here are some pictures of his latest installation here at the Missouri Botanical Garden, both outdoors and in the Climatron. Pictures are taken at night and my camera isn't always so steady for the low light conditions, but you'll get the gist of the show regardless.
I've seen the Chihuly exhibit in Seattle. This one is lovely, too. I find myself drawn to the round orbs in photo #7 the most. Light coming through glass is just gorgeous to me. I worked in stained glass for many years and found it a relaxing/soothing hobby.
The window results were just frosting on that cake.
My sister visited there a couple weeks ago and I saw many photos in the daylight
She went for the plants and then said she wished she had gone at night for the light display.
This is really cool! The night lighting is much more impactful, than the day time. Very nice pictures. I wanted to see the night exhibit too, glad I got to with your pics!
