Hi. We planted a young apple tree in Autumn 2021. In late winter I pruned it as per some advice I'd read. It blossomed a little bit in early Spring, but since then all leaves have died and the branches don't look like they're growing. Please can you advise.

Scratch the bark with your fingernail. If the layer under is green, your tree is alive. If the layer under is brown or hard, your tree is dead.

thanks very much for the reply; I've done as you suggested and it looks green under the bark which seems positive. Do you have any advice on what I should do to nuture the tree?

There's nothing to do but wait. Keep it watered.
