Please help- we released a load of ladybugs on our pepper plants to get rid of aphids, and two days later most of the ladybugs are gone and a lot of these bugs appeared. We are worried they are kissing bugs or assassin bugs and a quick Google search resulted in a variety of answers.

Welcome! Priscilla
I've often heard that imported ladybugs don't always stick around.

Looks like you have assassin bugs, which is good, because they also eat aphids. Last entry in this article
