Hello! I had difficulty getting glads to flower last year and I was under the impression that they were not getting enough sun. This year I put them in a self-watering planter with full sun and great drainage, but I still don't see anything that looks like it might be a flower. Am I being impatient or is there something wrong with these flowers? I'm in NY/7a.
Thanks!

Mine bloom in late June and aren't showing any signs yet here in 7b. When they start to form a flower stalk — you'll see the center thickening — it comes up fast.

That said, some of those look quite small. It takes a few years for a baby corm to develop to flower-bearing maturity. Some might not be ready.

The tallest is a little over 2 feet. Is that unusual? These aren't perennial where I live, so not bearing flowers in Year 1 would be quite the disappointment.

Perhaps the photo is deceptive. Two feet sounds normal. Be patient, it's still early!

I wouldn't give up either. The last of the blooms just happened here, normal for here. But whenever I add new store-bought ones in Feb. or March, they bloom a lot later than the pre-established bulbs.
