I've had two Alocasia wentii in my office for about 5 years and I really should have done something sooner, but they're far too tall and they tilt over. I have precarious props, but if removed, the plants would topple.

I should have taken a better picture today, but I didn't think of it until after I left. The attached photos are from 2021, so imagine that the stalk is much longer.

Any ideas on stabailizing them? I'm not familiar with the growth habits of this plant, but if I cut the long stem in half and stick the top half (with fewer leaves) in a pot, would new roots sprout, or could I cut the whole thing back to the soil line and would new leaves sprout from the base?

Thanks in Advance!

Your best bet would be to propagate them by cutting the trunk in half and burying the half with the leaves to the margin of where the trunk starts. The old stem should then res-route new pups, while the repotted ones will root.
Congrats in keeping an alocasia in an office for 5 years! Great job!
