Hello, I recently heard of this plant on a podcast and was considering it for a back of the border planting. I was wondering if anyone can offer a division for sale?

Hi,

I grow this. It's in bud right now. It has a hard time increasing, I think the voles eat it. There are 5-6 plants right now. They seem to be rhizomatous, they come up at 12" or more spacing from each other. They've been roaming in the same 6' area for many years. Maybe we could do a trade later this summer? Anyone with NARGS as part of their name is sure to have some interesting plants!

Hi @NARGSELPASO ,

I would be more than happy to do a trade! Is there a certain area that you wanna work on in your garden, and I can see what I'm propagating that will be suitable?

Hi,
I'm generally interested in perennials of all kinds. Our specialty is daylilies, we have over 2000 named ones. Only a few are on my "have" list in the database here. I just joined in '21 and haven't spent much time doing that. We also have an extensive Hosta collection. And many daffodils.

Right now I'm developing a large area (30' x 100') with daylilies and adding perennials to create beds that look like gardens instead of just daylily beds, of which we have too many! There are a few woody plants as the backbone - Chionanthus, Viburnums, a small Japanese maple.

I've been buying Phlox, could use more. I'd especially like 'Cleopatra'. Also fall asters to extend the season. They don't have to be named cultivars. I'd like to have Thalictrum rochebrunianum. Also Silene regia. Penstemons would be of interest. Hardy Agastache. A good blue Campanula lactiflora. Anything you might have that would fit in that we don't have. We only need to find one possibility!

In general the height range wanted would be 16"-48". We have a couple ornamental grasses left after removing most of them because of seeding problems.

The double-flowered bloodroot? That would be a treasure in spring!

Our property has a lot of habitats including some woods. We have some native plants, I'm always glad to add more. I've been gardening for many years and have grown a wide variety of plants. I belonged to NARGS for many years primarily for the seed exchange. I grew a lot of perennials and some annuals from that. Also some bulbs.

Please tell me we about your gardening interests!

Pat

Daylilies Region: Michigan Orchids Roses
It looks like you have enough offers, but if you need more... Smiling I have a pretty large patch here, about 15' x 15'. It likes it wet to moist -- not standing in water, but at a low spot in your garden, or a spot that seasonally floods. I shared some with a friend who planted it on her small pond's edge. It grew 1/4 way around the pond within four years. Butterflies love it. The only thing that seems to be able to share its space are poet's narciscuss and hyacinths. By the time they go dormant the QOTP is about 3' tall; if it gets enough moisture during the summer it is easily 5' tall without flowers.

Hi @SunnyinMichigan

Sounds like you have lots to spare! If @NARGSELPASO wants to work out something with you, that's fine 👍🏻
