Hummers love most any honeysuckle but I do see that this yellow one is their least favorite. However, I do really love it. I have lots of vining honeysuckles so they are not really missing out if they ignore this one.
I have some of the red-reddish trumpet honeysuckles also. And then I have the regular honeysuckle fowered form. I really like vining honeysuckles. I have at least 14 of them, probably more. I used to have even more but some died out over the years for one reason or another.
Can you drink from the red ones just like the yellow ones (pull the ?stamen/pistil through and it comes out with a bead of honey on it?)? My daughter is a fan of the honeysuckle for that reason.
I don't know if the trumpet honeysuckle have the nectar you can taste or not. They don't have the fragrance of the Japanese vine honeysuckle, but do attract hummers, so there must be nectar there.
