Thank you for the reply skop. Someone shared that they thought it was an Echinopsis hybrid and that it could use some fertilizer. Now that I know what it is, from your comment and research on the WWW, I see that it should receive some shade as well. Time for a relocation... Thank you again! (I will change the name on the thread from Echinocactus to Echinopsis).

It looks parched. Given that it is planted in the ground fertilizer should not be necessary. If you plant this in a full sun exposure you need to water it quite frequently. And will it looks like it is experiencing some sun stress it is nothing like what mine experience and are OK to take as long as they get plenty of water.
