Daylilies Region: Michigan Orchids Roses
The foliage on the plant behind the daylily is beautiful! Actually, the whole composition is nicely balanced with different leaf forms (besides the soothing gradient of mauve-pink shades).

Thanks. That's Hibiscus cannabinus. It was supposed to anchor this vignette, but got off to a slow start. Blooms on this one are a plum color.

Thank you for the name! The flower has a lovely deep color. Great foliage and great flowers -- that's a valuable plant!

I looked up the plant on Wikipedia and found out that one common name for the plant is kenaf. I had heard about kenaf as a fiber -- the ancient Egyptians used kenaf for their boats' sails. But I learned that the Ford Escape in 2013 used Kenaf as did the BMW!

I didn't know about the vehicles. Interesting.
There are a few different flower colors, but this one is super saturated. My favorite, I think.
