I always like your Coleus pictures. Do you by any chance have the names of those in this photo?.......Maryl

Thanks Joy for going to the effort of doing that. Your plant combinations are always lovely, but I'm particularly interested when you post your "sun" Coleus as it is a plant we can also use in our hot steamy Oklahoma summer climate (117 degree heat index yesterday). There are so many varieties to choose from it is nice to see a range of shapes and colors in a garden setting as opposed to a just a nursery catalogs "glamour" photo..........Maryl

That sounds very, very hot. Like stepping into the oven. Couple years ago we had a heat dome that hung over us for 3 days and our high temperature during those 3 days got to 117. We had never seen such a thing in the Pacific Northwest before. Hope we never do again. Stay cool. 😊

Good Grief Charlie Brown. That would be miserable for you all with no air conditioning. Tulsa is just recovering from 70-100 mph straight line winds which caused quite a bit of tree and property damage. But the really hard part was loosing power (no A/C) for a week. So you all have my sympathy from experience when you go through a heat wave......Maryl

One advantage is we never lost our power. A whole week, horrible! Most we've ever been without power here would be a few hours. We've never experienced even a whole day without. And it's not something that happens that often. Or maybe I should say yet? Our home has air conditioning. Many others have air conditioning now after that heat dome. Today we are in the '90s. That used to only happen maybe once a summer. Now we see them all the time. Then during the summer we can get down into the '60s. We don't know if we're coming or going anymore. I sure enjoy those 60s after a lot of these baking '90s. But we can't count on anything anymore. 🙁

So happy to hear you have A/C. A wise investment imo...... Oklahoma is known for radical weather changes. With temperatures soaring for weeks at a time over 100 degrees true heat in the summer to minus 12 in the winter, it's not a place for wimpy plants that's for sure.........I wish you the best through the challenges your bumps in the weather present. Here though we just call ours the normal 4 seasons of Oklahoma weather-lol..............Maryl
