Thread OP
Amarillo, Texas
I have a sapling in a round pot that is 18" high and 15" across. My sapling is showing roots at the bottom of the pot. Should I transplant it now or wait?
I am in Amarillo, Texas

I'd put it in a larger pot, and wait until cooler weather to plant it out, where I am right now it's been in the upper 90s or triple digits for a while w no rain. That's pretty hard on new things just going out.

Transplant it to the ground? Or a bigger pot? What kind of tree? How big is it? I live in a hot climate - plant in ground in fall or move to bigger pots in spring, but don't do both.

PS: Roots showing outside the pot doesn't mean the tree is rootbound. The roots went where the moisture is.
