Our voodoo lili is growing well in our uk garden, but by the base of the stalk we have a weird cone growing next to it, it may not have anything to do with the lili and can't find any info online. Any ideas?

It's a Sauromatum Venosum

Just found out it's the fruit.

Thank you Gina

Wow cool. I have had a large stand of Sauromatum venous in my yard for years and have never seen fruit...you should try to grow the seeds from that

If you got fruit your bloom got pollinated that's exciting. The black berries will eventually turn red and then you could plant them if you wanted. The true seed is inside the berry. I've raised Anchomanes from seed before, its kind of similar.

only planted from bulb this season, and only had the one. we're trying to work out how it got pollinated. Only thing I can think of is when it was first growing it looked like it was going to flower but was only around 4 inches, this was before we got the mottled stalk and leaves, we had a cold snap and it died off, but a couple of months later it started growing again.
Will give the seeds a go for sure.
Thanks again

It gets 'self pollinated' by flies
