Hi, as you can see on the first picture I have potatoes getting out of the ground from my plants. Nothing wrong with that, but what about the second pictures ? Are those also potatoes ?
Thanks

I agree
Potatoes are close cousins of tomatoes, thus similarlity.
Plant it and they will come.

Unlike tomatoes, potato fruit is poisonous.

And, there IS something "wrong" with the potatoes coming up out of the ground and turning green like that; be sure to trim off the green parts before eating them. Adding more soil over the plants as they grow (or mulch) will prevent that from happening.

Do you know what variety that is? The whole thing seeems unusual.- however, I have only grown Kennebac, Pontiac, maybe Yukon, just these common few sold nearby.
Plant it and they will come.

How deep were they planted below the fabric?

It looks like your main crop is above the fabric.

It seems most of my potatoes are underground, it looks like what you see on the picture is a "surplus" of what is underground. And yes I did add some soil on top for a few weeks. We'll see how it ends.

Just so you understand (and I have not been clear enough on my original post) : the fruits we see on the second picture are not on the same plant as the first picture.
First picture they are either Yukon or FrenchFingerlings.
Second picture (the fruit) are from Adironblak Blue.

Deep enough, what you see is really just "the top of the iceberg" and it's pretty recent.

I'll post a picture of our harvest in a few days.

There is no such thing as surplus, potatoes are produced on stolons sent out by the plant, soil quality determines how large a yield is; even deeply planted ones will, on occasion, send one up so a potato is partly on the surface, which is why I cover mine with leaf mulch.

Your potato has produced a main crop but there is/was no cover for it.
