Really a generous thing to do. Nice gesture. I'm sure Bailey will appreciate clean water! Last year I lent my neighbor enough money to hire a lawyer in order to get a divorce. It was an abusive toxic relationship. Spare all the details but suffice to say the divorce finally went through and my neighbor got her house back and custody of the 2 teenagers. It all turned out to her advantage which was the goal. Fast forward to last August. I was not feeling well and went to the ER. Three days later I woke up in the hospital. My neighbor was the first person I heard talking to me. Living alone I had no relatives to contact and no contact info in my wallet. The hospital was in a panic. Obviously somebody had to know who I was. They finally called my neighbors phone number from my phone log and she stepped up to the plate! Fed all the animals, cleaned my house, cleaned the porch and watered the plants, rearranged the furniture to make room for a hospital bed, got extra juice and water, was at the hospital every day advocating for me. At the end of 10 miserable days I told her to break me out of 'jail' and we finally after 5 hours left with discharge papers. She drove me home, stopping for a walker and the meds at CVS first. She paid for the walker. She was at my house every single day after that to make sure I was ok and had everything I needed. It was a debt we both paid for. She said that if she wasn't able to get divorced she was going to move out of state. In the mean time she met a wonderful guy and he treats her like a queen. She calls me her Mom. Her own parents ha nothing to offer her in her time of need. She continues to pay the loan back-not that I ask her for the money. she said she'd make it even and I know she will.
