If there is still viability in your plant I doubt that it will survive much longer in its current condition unless the pot and soil are changed to something more conducive to the long term health of the plant. If the plant is always indoors and receives
consistent light, temperature and moisture, I wouldn't think it would matter when it's repotted.
In the 56+ years I've been growing indoor plants, I've repotted them at all times of the year but I'm in Florida and perhaps it's different for those in other areas?
