I want to put a very large clock on this wall, (just outside of the patio door) but with my zone 5ish winters not sure if I can leave it out all year like I want to. I can see this from my kitchen, dining, patio area and from much of the garden where I work so I'd really like a clock here. Is there a special kind of battery that doesn't freeze, I assume most clocks run on AA or thereabouts. Suggestions welcome please!

I don't have the answer to your question but if those clocks were on Amazon you could go through questions answered or even ask that question to see if you get a reply.

The clocks you've chosen are beautiful.

I did google but not sure you can believe all you google - lol - but it said AA battery would work to zero degrees.

I'm not in your zone, but my outdoor clock has gone down to 22 degrees F with no problems. I'd give it a try.

Some run on 9 volts, we have a 9volt garage door opener pad that is outside and works fine, I usually have to change it every 1.5-2 years. Zone 4b

Alkaline batteries - have the best "power" ratings over time - but perform poorly in the cold of winter

Lithium batteries - will not offer the power ratings of Alkaline batteries - but the operating temperature is good to -40°F
