Brownish or reddish or grayish. You need to get rid of them all. Don't rely on alcohol or soapy water or whatever to do the job when it's this far along. Physical removal is best. So get those infested plants well away from any others that look healthy, and spray them from all angles with a jet of water (like from a hose, or a properly powerful squirt bottle). Just hit everywhere until there's no white matter left on the plant. Repeat in a week if you see leftovers. When the plant is dry after its cleansing, that's the best time to come in with 70% alcohol or dilute soapy water and blast the spaces where the bugs were hanging out. Do this when it cools down in the late afternoon, out of the sun.
I would throw out the Aeonium (red plant) if that were mine, or at least all the affected heads. This time of year in the California climate is when Aeoniums are most susceptible to mealy bugs. And getting rid of them is a lot of effort when they can be present in between each leaf. Better all around (for me) to save the other Aeoniums on the patio, because these bugs do like to spread.
Quarantine all affected plants before during and after treatment. See this thread for more info
