Attached is my Thai chili pepper and I notice the white stuff on its branch. These are 2 years old. Do you know what it is? I have two Thai chili pepper plants in the ground and they both have this white stuff. But all the ones I have in containers don't have it.

I concur with the above options. Either way, some horticultural soap will alleviate and hopefully get rid of the problem entirely.

Pretty easy to distinguish. Wooly aphids can fly and jump.
